Energizer has just launched a major brand communication platform, worldwide, that encourages you together with Energizer to make a positive difference to the world. This new communication platform is represented by the words “That’s Positivenergy™” and is brought to life in South Africa by offering you great opportunities to participate in exciting activities and to win terrific prizes.
“That’s Positivenergy” combines performance plus responsibility, and demonstrates Energizer’s long-standing commitment to responsible power, and serving the community.
When buying a battery you’ve probably only thought about getting the right size, Now Energizer, the leader in portable power, is empowering you to evaluate batteries and so help make a positive difference to the environment. So the next time you buy a battery you’ll think beyond size and price.
“We believe everyone has the power to make a positive impact, in our own community and beyond,” says Sofia Roque, Energizer South Africa brand manager. “Trough our Positivenergy campaign, we’re inviting the public to share our goals for the environment through involvement in some terrifically exciting activities.”

SCULPTURE DESIGN COMPETITION
Energizer has also commissioned young, aspiring artists to design a sculpture using Energizer batteries. The designs will be rendered in 3D artworks which you can see – and judge – by visiting www.facebook.com/energizersouthafrica. Or you can check on the Energizer iPad stations on promotional days at selected malls nationally.
Simply by voting for your favourite art renderings of these sculptures you can win instant prizes.
The whole point of this competition is to help the READ Educational Trust. How? The winning design will be created into a sculpture made out of batteries, which will then be auctioned and all the proceeds will be donated to the Trust.
Since its inception in 1979 READ has been dedicated to helping South Africans develop their skills in reading, writing, learning, information and communication – not only so that they may become independent, lifelong learners, but to become valuable, contributing members of our society.
The funds raised by Energizer’s sculpture auction will be allocated to Motheo Foundation Primary school and will be used to buy books for the school’s central library. Books will be chosen to meet the school’s specific needs, and could range from home language books for the Foundation Phase to encyclopaedias and dictionaries for the Intermediate Phase.
DID YOU KNOW …?
‘Positivenergy’ is further proof of Energizer’s commitment to making life better. In 1991, Energizer developed the first commercially available, alkaline battery with no added mercury, and recently expanded its zero mercury offerings to specialty and hearing aid batteries. Energizer was the first to harness the power of lithium in AA and AAA cells, creating the world’s longest lasting battery in high-tech devices. The company is the leader in rechargeable products that can be reused hundreds of times. In lighting products, Energizer brings energy efficient LED and lithium technology, and other advanced features that distinguish them in the category.
